Sheffield Solid Surfaces is looking for a reliable and enthusiastic Workshop Labourer to support our bench joiners and fabricators. This is a great opportunity for someone hands-on who is looking to learn a trade and work their way up within a supportive and professional workshop environment.
We specialise in high-end kitchen worktops and bespoke interior fittings, using materials such as Corian.
What a Workshop Labourer Does:
As a labourer in our workshop, you'll play a key role in helping the team run smoothly. Your tasks will include:
- Unloading deliveries and moving materials around the workshop
- Preparing worktops and materials for fabrication
- Assisting with sanding, gluing, routing, and other basic processes
- Helping with lifting and assembling panels and components
- Cleaning, organising, and maintaining a tidy workspace
- Supporting experienced fabricators and joiners with day-to-day tasks
- Learning how to use workshop tools and machinery safely
- Helping load finished products for delivery or site installation
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work, is physically fit, and is eager to gain new skills in a fast-paced workshop setting.
What We’re Looking For:
- Hardworking, reliable, and practical
- Previous workshop, site labouring, or manual handling experience (preferred)
- Willingness to learn and take instruction
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Attention to detail and pride in doing a job properly
- Driving licence (preferred but not essential)
