Oakwrights Bath Ltd is a well-established joinery company based in Corsham, Wiltshire. We specialise in the manufacture of bespoke joinery such as doors, frames and gates; casement, direct-glazed and sliding sash windows and glazed screens; staircases; and other internal fitments. An award-winning company, our typical projects are high-end country and town houses, barn conversions and commercial.
We are seeking to employ a highly motivated and skilled joiner/machinst with considerable experience on the bench and the ability to lead a team of joiners in our busy workshop. Due to the small size of our team, this role could suit a keen bench joiner looking to progress into a management position.
· Liaising with management re production planning, scheduling, allocating work, prioritising, delivering completed work all in time for end of month invoicing.
· Shopfloor/workshop supervision, team of 8.
· Liaise with technical and estimating and it would be an advantage if you could cover in their absence.
· Checking drawings and cutting lists. Being able to mark out would be an advantage.
· Checking in deliveries and sorting out material problems, quality, shortage, etc.
· Project manage the targeted job hours produced to quote the job compared to actual hours as the project moves through the workshop.
The ideal candidate will require the following skills and characteristics:
· A joinery background, ideally in bespoke joinery manufacturing to be able to turn your hand to any kind of bespoke project. A knowledge of stairs would be an advantage.
· A high attention to detail in every part of your work.
· An independent worker who is self-motivated but can also work well as part of a team when needed to step in to meet deadlines in an ever-growing team.
· Good numeracy and communication skills.
· Highly organised with the ability to prioritise your own workload and the people around you to meet deadlines working efficiently and effectively.
· Excellent and proactive communication skills, with the ability to build relations with our clients, discuss projects confidently, at the same time keeping everyone happy.
· It would be an advantage if you were proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel & Outlook).
The role is full-time and permanent, with a minimum of 40 hours per week. Base salary will be negotiable based on experience. Normal benefits apply including holiday entitlement (long term service is an extra day for every five years completed) and NEST Pension Scheme. Commencement date: As soon as possible. All required/relevant training will be provided.
