We are seeking a skilled Bench Joiner to join our workshop team. The successful candidate will be responsible for producing, repairing, and assembling timber sash and case windows, doors, and associated components to a high standard of accuracy and finish.
Key Responsibilities
- Manufacture and assemble sash and case windows, doors, and bespoke joinery items from technical drawings and specifications.
- Operate woodworking machinery, including CNC machines, saws, planers, spindle moulders, and traditional hand tools.
- Carry out joinery repairs and refurbishments in line with heritage and conservation standards.
- Ensure accuracy in measuring, cutting, and fitting components.
- Maintain high standards of health and safety in the workshop.
- Collaborate with colleagues in the workshop and on-site teams to meet project deadlines.
- Take pride in producing work that aligns with the company’s reputation for quality and attention to detail.
Skills & Experience Required
- Proven experience as a Bench Joiner, ideally within the sash and case or heritage joinery sector.
- Ability to read and work from technical drawings.
- Skilled in the use of both traditional hand tools and modern woodworking machinery.
- Strong understanding of timber properties and joinery techniques.
- Commitment to precision, quality, and craftsmanship.
- Good teamwork and communication skills.
- Awareness of workshop health and safety practices.
Desirable
- Experience with conservation and listed building work.
- Knowledge of CNC programming (WoodWOP or similar).
- Formal joinery qualification (e.g., SVQ/NVQ or equivalent).
