Before and After School Club Playworker – Frenchay Out of School Club
OOSC Out Of School Clubs provide Ofsted registered breakfast, after school and holiday clubs in several schools across South Gloucestershire. We are committed to providing high quality childcare where children are safe, active and have fun!
We have an opportunity for an enthusiastic and reliable Playworker to join our friendly team at Frenchay Out of School Club. The club has recently received an excellent Ofsted inspection and is looking to expand in numbers.
- Location: The OOSC Club Room and School Hall at Frenchay Primary School, Alexander Road, Frenchay, Bristol, BS16 1UZ.
- Part-time hours: 7.30am to 9.00am and 3.10pm to 6.00pm Monday to Friday, term time. Some flexibility on agreed working days and hours may be available.
- Optional additional Holiday Club hours may be available as overtime in the school holidays at the OOSC Holiday Club based at St Helen’s Primary School in Alveston.
- Pay Rate: Dependent on qualifications and experience.
- Free own child places may be offered for staff children who attend Frenchay Primary School
- Start Date: As soon as possible.
Responsibilities:
The successful applicant will join our team in providing safe, high-quality and stimulating after school care for children of primary school age, in a play-based setting. The role will include:
- Facilitating play opportunities and offering an appropriate level of support for all children attending the club.
- Assisting with the day-to-day activities of the club.
- Providing snacks, ensuring that hygiene and health and safety standards are met.
- Maintaining good working relationships with children and families.
Requirements:
- Being adaptable and able to work on your own initiative.
- Willingness to learn and ability to work in a small team.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Reliability, with excellent attendance and timekeeping.
- Qualifications and Experience: Relevant qualifications or work experience are desirable but not essential (training can be provided). Paediatric First Aid, Safeguarding and Food Hygiene training will be provided as appropriate. Apprenticeships considered.
