Overview
Deco at Saltdean Lido is seeking a passionate and dedicated Barista to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a love for coffee and a commitment to providing exceptional customer service. As a Barista, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality beverages, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring a welcoming atmosphere for our customers. This role requires strong time management skills and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Duties
- Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold beverages, including coffee, tea, and specialty drinks.
- Ensure all food preparation meets safety and hygiene standards.
- Maintain cleanliness of the work area, equipment, and utensils throughout the shift.
- Engage with customers in a friendly manner, taking orders and providing assistance as needed.
- Handle cash transactions accurately and efficiently.
- Monitor stock levels of ingredients and supplies, reporting any shortages to management.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations during busy periods.
Requirements
- Previous experience in food preparation or as a Barista is preferred but not essential.
- Basic maths skills for handling transactions and measuring ingredients.
- Strong time management abilities to prioritise tasks effectively during peak hours.
- Knowledge of food safety practices is an advantage.
- A positive attitude with a willingness to help customers and colleagues alike.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as required.
