Bank Support Worker

Halifax Drive is looking to recruit a Bank Support Worker to join the team.

Halifax Drive is located in Leicester. It offers residential support for 33 males and females who have a learning disability, who may also be autistic. We are located in a residential area off a main road.

Our team are dedicated to improving the health and wellbeing of the people we support, helping them to have a fun and meaningful life which they have full control of.

What you'll be doing

You will be part of a compassionate team who are committed to our residents wellbeing. We take a personalised approach, using proven therapies to help people move forward with confidence and build a healthier, more fulfilling future. You will play a key part in their recovery, assisting qualified staff with the assessment and implementation of individual patient care plans, undertaking routine tasks and activities as directed or delegated to facilitate wellbeing, dignity and treatment of residents.
  • Provide flexible, person-centered care to individuals with diverse needs, including mental health, learning disabilities, or physical challenges.
  • Work on an as-needed basis, covering shifts due to staff absences, holidays, or increased service demands.
  • Support daily living activities such as personal care, medication administration, meal preparation, and community engagement.
  • Promote independence and well-being, helping service users achieve personal goals in line with their support plans.
  • Maintain accurate records and communicate effectively with colleagues, families, and health professionals to ensure consistent and safe care.
You can find additional information in the attached job description.

What you'll bring to the role

Our work is rewarding but can be challenging, so resilience is key. No two days are the same! Your natural empathy will help you support others through both the highs and lows.

Candidates should have previous experience working in a care or support environment, ideally supporting individuals with learning disabilities, mental health needs, or complex care requirements. They should be confident in delivering personal care, managing challenging behaviours, and promoting independence in line with individual care plans. Strong communication and teamwork skills are essential, along with a good understanding of safeguarding and health and safety procedures. Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, is also required.

We want you to succeed at Priory and thrive in your role. You will be well supported with regular career conversations. We also offer full training and numerous pathways into leadership and qualified clinical positions to help you shape your career with us.
