Capes Dunn & Co was established in 1826 and has been operating in and around Manchester ever since. Now based in Heaton Mersey, Stockport, we have a very busy auction calendar and hold around 50 sales per year.
We are now looking for a photographer to join our small, hard-working team.
Monday to Friday: 9am-5pm

PLEASE NOTE – This is primarily a photography role, not a social media/content creation or marketing role.
Essential:
Hold a degree in photography or be able to provide a high quality portfolio of work
Experience with product photography
Good level of skill using InDesign, Photoshop, Lightroom
Excellent attention to detail
Work effectively to strict deadlines and manage workloads
Able to work as part of team and individually
Previous experience managing social media (using Canva and Meta Business Suite)
Be aware of current health and safety requirements and safe manual handling practice
Desirable:
Previous experience working in an Auction House
An interest in antiques and fine art
Knowledge of handling valuable goods
Experience of categorising and uploading images to a back office system
Knowledge of Microsoft programmes
Managing and updating a website through a third-party site
Duties will include:
Producing high quality images of lots for printed and online use, advertising and websites (up to 500 lots per sale cycle)
Responsibility for uploading images to two live bidding platforms using the current coding/stock system
Ensuring the sales are published in a timely manner
Producing and designing catalogues and covers, adverts for print and social media posts
Helping with condition reports and additional image requests in a timely manner before the sale
Handling and moving goods, including ceramics, glass, jewellery and works of art
Assisting with the online bidding platforms on sale days
Managing and updating the website in accordance with the sale schedule

Pay: £12.21 per hour
