This programme aims to strengthen applications for a number of unqualified psychological professional roles i.e. assistant psychologist, graduate mental health worker, psychological wellbeing practitioner (PWP) and many more, that routinely lead to a place on clinical doctoral programmes.
We are offering an aspiring psychology role in the Bromley OPMH CMHT, Memory Service & Care Home Support Team . This role is a work experience placement paid at Agenda for Change Band 4 and is intended to be offered as part time, working 2 days a week for 12 months however there is some flexibility in the hours and duration of the contract which can be agreed with successful applicants to accommodate other commitments.
Our aspiring psychology role have been developed with careful consideration to offer you experience in an array of clinical and non-clinical activities integral in the running of a successful psychology service. You will have the opportunity to shadow qualified staff, support assessments with service users, contribute to service evaluation and to be part of a vibrant and passionate team of psychological professionals.
Lastly, you will be ‘buddied’ with a assistant psychologist that will offer you mentorship and support throughout your time in the role.

The post will work alongside the Consultant Clinical Psychologist across the Psychology Service for Older People in Bromley.
There will be opportunities to co-facilitate groups with CBT therapist and MHWBP, as well as participating in assessments, in referral and business meetings in the Community Mental Health Service for Older People
The Dementia Care Homes Team provides consultation in residential and nursing homes to alleviate manifestations of distress in dementia and there are opportunities to join training days and co-facilitate these, audits, service evaluations and to join an outcome measures project that is linked to a national working group.
In the Memory Service there are opportunities for joining cognitive and neuropsychological assessments, participate in the delivery of post-diagnostic programmes for people with dementia, such as Cognitive Rehabilitation, Cognitive Stimulation Therapy and a Living Well With Dementia workshop. There is an active Dementia Service User Group where individual members require support for some of their work in awareness raising, public speaking or publications on the group's blog.
