As an Apprentice Support Worker you will work directly with clients to provide personal care whilst helping to maintain and promote independence and dignity.
Some of the main duties and responsibilities may include dressing/bathing /meal preparation, providing social and emotional support, and creating a supportive atmosphere where clients can achieve maximum independence.
The post involves working within clients own home, for which you will need a full driving license and use of independent transport. A mileage payment will be made in addition to the hourly wage.
You will work to a 6 week rolling rota, covering all days of the week on a shift basis to cover the hours from 7am to 10pm.
You will work towards a Level 2 Diploma Adult social care.
What skills and experience do you need?
We are looking for someone who is passionate about working for our community and has the following qualifications / experience:
- Minimum qualifications of English and Maths at Level 2 (equivalent to GCSE grade 4/C or above / Functional Skills Level 2)
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Commitment to the full duration of the apprenticeship — showing reliability, motivation, and readiness to balance work and study responsibilities
- Willingness to learn and develop new skills - apprenticeships are designed for those ready to grow through hands-on experience and training.Please outline in your personal statement how you meet this criteria.
