A fantastic opportunity has become available at St David's Hill Playgroup. They are looking for an Apprentice Nursery Practitioner to join their setting, to fit well within their friendly team and learn skills on the job whilst supporting children’s play, learning & development.
We are looking for a candidate to join our small group and to work alongside experienced members of our staff. The applicant must be highly trustworthy and attentive to the needs of the children. You will be involved in supervising children during their play and actively encouraging children to learn through their play. This will be done under the supervision of the staff. This will be an important part of your role and you will learn how how to interact with young children throughout all activities that you take part in, which will help you progress through your apprenticeship
Duties Will include
- Caring for children
- Preparing and maintaining environments to meet children's needs
- Supporting children's play and learning
- Supporting children's development
- Adhere to all safeguarding practices
- Preparing snacks and help with their feeding and cleaning
To become an apprentice, you must:
- be 16 or over
- not already be in full-time education
As an apprentice you’ll:
- complete a L2 or L3 Early Years apprenticeship standard
- have regular one to one sessions with a dedicated trainer either remotely or through visits to your workplace
- learn and train for a specific job
- get paid and receive holiday leave
- get hands-on experience in a real job
- study for at least 20% of your working hours
- complete assessments during and at the end of your apprenticeship
- be on a career path with lots of future potential

Qualifications required
No previous qualifications required for L2 however experience in caring for children would be preferred.
