About the Role
Onward Repairs are now looking to add to their in-house maintenance trades team with an Apprentice Joiner. The purpose of the role is to assist in delivering property maintenance services in line with all group standards and key performance indicators. Ensuring high standard at all times, observing all legal, statutory and regulatory requirements while undertaking repair activities within customer’s homes, empty properties and for other clients as require.
General
To assist in undertaking joinery repairs, ensuring a cost effective repair solution where value for money is delivered. Helping to organise materials communicating with customers, other stakeholders and colleagues to deliver a high quality service
Customer Service
Provide excellent personal customer service whilst ensuring prompt work of the required standard within the set performance targets.
Liaison and technical advice
To assist clients, customers and colleagues with applicable information in relation to the service / assessment of repairs requirements and the progress of repairs.
Quality
Ensure all work is delivered to a high standard of workmanship.
Records
To assist in completing jobs on PDA’s and maintain other records as required including access details, materials used, job progression and completion information.
Health and Safety
Undertake work activities in line with all health and safety requirements demonstrating a sound working knowledge of key legislative health and safety information, safe working practices ensuring risks are effectively mitigated and all instructions followed providing a safe working environment at all times.
Work equipment
To assist in the operation of light machinery, plant and powered hand tools in accordance with recognised safety procedures. To be responsible for the safe use and daily maintenance of allocated Company vehicles
Skills/Experience
Essential:
- Interest in Joinery.
Desirable:
- Experience of working in a customer focussed customer centred repairs service.
- Experience of working in a target driven environment.
- A driving licence is not needed to take up the apprenticeship but candidates will need to have obtained a driving licence by the end of the apprenticeship in order to take on a permanent position if available at the time.
Our Apprenticeship requirements
- You will be enrolled in a Carpentry & Joinery level 2 apprenticeship with the Growth Company which will last approximately 24 months
- You must not have already completed a trade qualification in Carpentry & Joinery or similar joinery qualification to be eligible
- You must have a grade 4 or above in GCSE Mathematics and English
- You must be a UK citizen or have the right to work in the UK. You also need to have been living in the UK or EEA for the past three years.
- Right to Work: You need to have the legal right to work in the UK, which can be demonstrated through citizenship or relevant immigration documentation.
