Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Apprentice Electrician to join our team. This role is ideal for individuals looking to gain hands-on experience in the electrical trade while working under the supervision of experienced engineers. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to build an exciting career in the electrical industry. We specialise in the installation and maintenance of electrical systems from LV up to 33kV. By the end of your apprenticeship you will have experience in a number of roles such as cable jointing, electrical fitter and electrician. Upon completion of your apprenticeship you will be a qualified electrician, and specialist courses will be offered to further your progression.
Duties
- Assist qualified engineers in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems and equipment.
- Assist with the installation and termination of cables up to 33kV
- Installing earthing systems for substations
- Learn to install cable containment
- Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively to perform tasks.
- Follow safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe working environment.
- Participate in training sessions to enhance knowledge of electrical systems and practices.
- Help with troubleshooting electrical issues under the guidance of experienced professionals.
- Maintain a clean and organised work area, ensuring tools and materials are stored properly.
- Support team members in completing projects on time and to high standards.
Skills
- Full UK drivers licence required
- Basic understanding of electrical principles and systems is advantageous.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to safety practices.
- Good time keeping
- Ability to follow instructions accurately and work as part of a team.
- Good problem-solving skills with a willingness to learn from experienced electricians.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
