Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Air Import Specialist to join our dynamic logistics team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing air import operations, ensuring timely and efficient movement of goods while maintaining compliance with all regulatory requirements. This role requires strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Duties

• Coordinate and oversee air import shipments from origin to destination, ensuring compliance with customs regulations.
• Utilise Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and EDI systems for tracking shipments and managing documentation.
• Perform data entry tasks accurately to maintain up-to-date records of shipments and inventory.
• Negotiate rates with carriers and suppliers to optimise costs while ensuring service quality.
• Collaborate with sales teams to support lead generation and sales management efforts related to air imports.
• Maintain effective communication with clients, suppliers, and internal teams regarding shipment status and any issues that may arise.
• Conduct regular reviews of processes to identify areas for improvement in efficiency and effectiveness within the supply chain.

Experience

• Proven experience in logistics or supply chain management, particularly in air import operations.
• Familiarity with AS400 systems is advantageous.
• Strong skills in data entry and proficiency in using various software applications related to logistics management.
• Experience in negotiating contracts and managing supplier relationships is preferred.
• A solid understanding of transportation management systems and their application within the logistics sector is essential.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
