Job Summary:
Families First is a therapeutic family run fostering agency with an office in Stone and one in Bilston supporting foster families in Staffordshire, Shropshire, South Cheshire and the Black Country. We have recently been graded 'Outstanding' by OFSTED and won several awards in Children's services for the support we provide not only to children but to foster families as a whole.
We are seeking a detail-oriented, reliable and enthusiastic Fostering Administrator to join our friendly team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing administrative support and ensuring efficient office operations.
Salary is pro rata based on Part time hours worked. £25,000 is full time equivalent.
Responsibilities:
- As administrator you will be the first point of contact for all visitors and phone calls, dealing with queries effectively and confidentially. You will be in your comfort zone supporting the team and managers with minuting, projects and research when required.
- The successful candidate will be responsible for providing a comprehensive administrative service to the team to ensure an effective and efficient service. You will be required to provide high-quality administration to all internal and external stakeholders. This will include Fostering Panel administration as well as family finding for children and young people.
- Perform clerical tasks such as typing, data entry, completing statutory checks and maintaining files on the companies database Charms.
- It is important that you are able to work efficiently within a fast-paced environment. You should have the ability to work calmly under pressure with a flexible working attitude.
- You must be organised with the ability to manage numerous tasks and conflicting deadlines.
- Teamwork is important as well as being able to work on your own initiative. The role is a hybrid of home working and office based when required. You will therefore need to be able to work well as required in both environments.
- It will be useful to have experience of fostering or social care administration to fully understand the context of the work required.
- Maintain office organisation and efficiency, including room set up and clear away, organising catering and office stocktake.
- Utilise Microsoft office applications and other office computerised systems effectively.
- Travel to both offices in Stone and Bilston will be required so driving is essential. The role will be predominantly office based from the Stone office with some flexibility to work from home.
- The role is part - time with some flexibility in terms of working days/ hours with negotiation and where this meets the needs of the business.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in a social care administrative role
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Excellent communication skills and phone etiquette
- Familiarity with office equipment and procedures
- Knowledge of fostering services administration is a plus
