Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dynamic Activities Director to lead our recreational programmes within our care home facilities. This role is essential in enhancing the quality of life for our residents by providing engaging activities that promote social interaction, mental stimulation, and physical well-being. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in senior care, particularly with experience in dementia and Alzheimer's care, ensuring that all activities are tailored to meet the diverse needs of our residents.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a comprehensive activities programme that caters to the interests and abilities of residents.
- Coordinate daily activities, including arts and crafts, games, exercise classes, and outings.
- Foster a warm and inviting environment that encourages resident participation and socialisation.
- Collaborate with caregiving staff to ensure activities are safe and appropriate for all residents.
- Maintain accurate records of resident participation and feedback to continually improve the programme.
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff to promote upcoming events and gather input on activity preferences.
- Provide support for residents with special needs, ensuring their involvement in activities is meaningful and enjoyable.
Experience
- Previous experience in a care home setting is essential.
- Demonstrated knowledge of senior care practices, particularly in dementia and Alzheimer's care.
- Strong communication skills to effectively engage with residents, families, and team members.
- Background in caregiving or related fields is highly desirable.
