Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced activities coordinator whom can Create and organize a varied activities program, from agreed and organized interests to group and individual event which will promote independence, choice, and dignity for the residents.
To provide residents with a range of opportunities to take part in a range of activities and identify induvial needs and likes to enable them to get involved.
Collaborating with our residents, community, friends, relatives and other agencies to foster a network to benefit and cater a network of support.
Duties
· Getting to know each resident and their interests and life histories to deliver events and activities to enrich and fulfil lives ensuring good community connections.
· Provide motivation and support to colleagues to actively promote activities and engagement daily.
· Monitor and control the home activities resources keeping up to date with necessary documentation to ensure activities are planned and organised within reasonable budgeting and planning.
· To plan and execute a range of varied and stimulating activities on a monthly display board which is clearly seen in a prominent area of the home and is updated regularly.
· Ensuring each resident is enabled to maximise their independence within their own abilities and privacy and dignity is always respected.
· To plan and execute outings and community events having understanding and regard to health and safety needs of each resident and the plan ahead.
· To plan and attend any functions requested by management such as fund-raising events and special occasions which may be outside of usual working hours.
· To comply with care plan needs and ensuring activities are clearly documented with outcome and interaction in correct area of individual care plans.
· Ensure fundraising events are planned regularly and funds are available to plan and arrange events.
· Participate in regular residents and relatives’ meetings if requested to do so by management.
· To gain feedback and ideas from residents and their loved ones to ensure choice and variety.
· To ensure a clear plan minimal 4 weeks in advance Is in place and subject to change where needed.
· Coordinate needs for an event ensuring all material and resources are prepared and ready prior to activity taking place.
· Monitor and evaluate activities on monthly basis to ensure they continue to meet desired needs of individuals and adjust where needed.
· Recognise and plan logistics of event to ensure venue selection appropriate, resources available, funding in place and health and safety assessed.
· Monitor and evaluate effectiveness continuously.
· Be aware of and be flexible to special occasions and events to include residents’ birthdays, theme days and celebrations.
· Resources and materials available for care staff to engage in activities in your absence.
· Planning to be incorporated into your working days and management able to access and review this as needed.
· Respect service users wishes and involve the in their activities and its planning, allowing them to make choices.
· Maintain good relationships with relatives and be courteous to all visitors making them feel welcome in the home.
· Take part in staff meetings when required.
· All staff are responsible for protecting themselves and others against infection risks and must comply with policies, procedures and be up to date in training.
· Report any complaints, concerns, incidents, accidents, or grievances to the home manager.
· Maintain confidentiality of service users and the home. No information must be shared with any person outside the home
Experience
· Relevant experience is desirable.
· Must be able to comply with and understand care planning process.
· Maintain confidentiality.
· Understand health, safety, and risk assessing
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: Up to £25,000.00 per year
Expected hours: No more than 20 per week
