Katherine House & Griffiths House are looking for a fun, confident, creative and motivated Activities Assistant otherwise known as a wellbeing assistant to join our well-loved Wellbeing Team.
Your role would be to:
- Work with elderly people and those with dementia to challenge the traditional stereotype of a care home.
- Provide fresh and exciting ideas for events in both homes to improve the wellbeing of the residents.
- Hold your own engaging daily group activities and spend meaningful 121 time with residents.
- Help residents to build connections with volunteers and organisations in the community.
- Bring smiles and sunshine to everyone by dressing up in fabulous costumes and encouraging staff and residents to participate for event days
- Communicate with volunteers and build positive relationships with family members.
- Work in the wellbeing team to provide a comprehensive, varied and enjoyable activity programme
- Support on external trips
- Support the Wellbeing Co-Ordinator and the other wellbeing assistant to stimulate, engage and make a difference on a daily basis to the quality of life for all residents, supporting our One Wish project
We are looking for an upbeat and motivated person who thinks outside of the box. Ideally a ‘people person’, you will be adaptable and willing to try new things. You should be open to learning from the residents, flexible during activities and approachable, with a ‘have a go’ attitude.
You would be working alongside the Wellbeing Coordinator and another Wellbeing Assistant to create a high quality and stimulating weekly programme of activities and events. We are a friendly and supportive team, looking for that special person to join in with all the fun of this role!
You need to be IT literate and able to use new technology.

25-30 hours a week including 1 Saturday in 3 and 1 Tuesday or a Thursday to hold a social evening (all will be discussed at interview)
