We have an exciting opportunity for an Accounts Assistant to join our Finance Team.
This is a pivotable position within the Finance Team of Healthcare Management Trust. Assisting with journal posting and I&E and Balance sheet review for Hospital, Central and Care Home month end close. Key role in assisting Finance with bank reconciliations, month end reporting and control account reconciliations
This role is fixed term until 31st January 2026

Job Description
Analysing multiple sets of data from various accounting/financial systems to produce relevant analysis and summary reports
Work with the Finance and Commercial Business Partner, Care Home Managers and Finance Team to develop, implement and manage departmental Management Information, across all the departments within HMT
Assist with the month end review process and completion of Lead Schedules for each site proactively suggesting areas where further analysis is needed
Highlight, analyse, suggest mitigation and monitor all issues of financial performance, liaising with service providers where appropriate and working with them to promote continuous improvement
Contribute to the construction of budgets and forecasts
Clear understanding of Power BI overhead dashboards and drivers
Business partnering with Accounts payable and Payroll to streamline processes and analyse reporting
Ensuring allocations are up to date across CC8 and ensuring income rec, debtors and creditors are clean and accurate.
Deep dive data sets to ensure debtor, creditor and prepayment reporting conforms to other output sources
Proficient in using and reporting from Access Dimensions, Compucare 8 and Coolcare (training provided)
Essential
Degree level or AAT part qualified
Excellent IT skills , advanced level
Studying towards AAT or Accounting Graduate
Desirable
Experience of management accounts production
