We are looking for a Access Gate Security Officer to join us at our client site in London. Our client is one of the largest pedestrianised communities around, with modern offices, retail, food and drink outlets all in one place. Alongside this are modern gardens giving the site a unique feel.

This role will be wholly responsible for the 24/7 element of security and access control at the site's main access points at Circle Service Roadway and other Service Roadway's. To maintain EDGE and the day to day-operational security requirements at these locations in line with customer and contractual expectations. To manage and facilitate all logistics into and out of both locations ensuring Fulcrum is used to manage the service delivery. The security element is equally important as these areas are the back doors to the buildings. Manage all incidents, issues and customer, supplier and visitor needs whilst maintaining security within your area of influence

As a Access Gate Security Officer you are an integral part of the team and you can make an impact with your skills to protect, deter and respond to any security matters, whilst providing an exceptional customer service experience.

A typical day in the life as a Access Gate Security Officer:

  • Control security with a proactive, confident and positive posture so as to deter crime and protect Broadgate
  • Manage access and egress using Fulcrum at all times
  • To ensure that all visitors feel welcome and are signposted correctly and efficiently
  • Remain well informed at all times
  • All incidents are reported and responded to in accordance with policies and procedures as appropriate to the rank of Security Officer.
  • Ensure that all incidents are responded to as directed by the Area Supervisor and in accordance with policy and procedures.
  • Allequipment is working and logged on for your shift
  • To be overly inquisitive, curious and professionally suspicious of all those seeking to access your gate
  • Compilation of all incident reports when requested.
  • If required carry out searches. Conduct random patrols, tasks and checks
  • Ensure KPI measures are known and delivered
  • Communicate and co-ordinate through the chain of command
  • Report any health and safety concerns to your colleagues or supervisor or management via the radio or in person
  • If Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) has been issued, ensure it is worn and that you keep it serviceable at all times and report any defects to your line manager
  • Always ensure while at work you are wearing the correct uniform including PPE. First impressions count
  • What are we looking for?
    We are looking for people who are passionate about helping others and keeping those around you both safe and secure.
  • SIA Licence
  • Completed Fulcrum training including all site and WJ compliance training.
  • You will already have experience using Fulcrum
  • Proven negotiation, listening, communication and problem solving skills
  • You must be fit and physically capable to patrol and do checking tasks for several hours at a time.
  • Experience of working in a similar environment with deliveries, drivers and vehicle heavy areas
  • Demonstrable experience and a strong record time keeping, smartness, team player, flexibility, moral courage, ownership
  • Strong record of attendance (Bradford Score and sickness records will be used (for existing employees)
  • Experience in dealing with multiple issues at once, prioritising and resolving problems for people
  • Ability to communicate with the public, subordinates, colleagues, clients, contractors and management in the appropriate manner
  • The ability to effectively deal with incidents with demonstrable resilience and self-control
  • Excellent customer engagement skills with excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • High levels of attention to detail, proven team player and ability to prioritise time effectively
  • An understanding of the principles of equality and diversity
  • Demonstrate the ability to think and act quickly in emergencies or under pressure
  • Have an ability to deliver succinct and clear reports both verbally on the radio and in writing
