Overview
We are seeking a reliable and skilled 7.5 Tonne Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient delivery of goods, ensuring that all items are transported in accordance with company policies and road safety regulations. This role requires a proactive approach to driving and logistics, with a focus on customer service and timely deliveries.
Responsibilities
- Operate a 7.5 tonne curtain side vehicle for the delivery of goods to various locations.
- Ensure all deliveries are completed safely and on time, adhering to scheduled routes.
- Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure the lorry is in good working order.
- Load and unload goods securely, ensuring compliance with weight restrictions and safety regulations.
- Maintain accurate delivery records, including logs of mileage and fuel usage.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery status.
- Follow all traffic laws and company policies while driving.
Experience
- Proven experience as a delivery driver, preferably with commercial driving experience.
- Familiarity with curtain side/tail lift vehicles is advantageous.
- A valid UK driving licence appropriate for 7.5 tonne vehicles is essential.
- Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices in commercial driving.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage time effectively.
