Job Summary
Only suitable for candidates who are available at least one week day and the weekends through out the year (resident in Norwich throughout the year) and candidates start as early as 7 am on some shifts and finish as late as 9 am. Must be happy and able to pot wash to high standards and highest efficiency. Must live within Norwich.
The position requires work in both a high intensity kitchen and interaction with customers including preparing professional coffee beverages. The successful candidate must be very comfortable to multitask and work efficiently both in preparing multiple orders and dealing with customers in a friendly manner. The job will also including other duties such as handing out food samples in front of stores and
- Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold beverages, including coffee, tea, and specialty drinks.
- Ensure all food safety standards are adhered to during food preparation and service.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the work area, including equipment and utensils, kitchen, toilets and shop floor.
- Engage with customers, taking orders accurately and providing recommendations based on their preferences.
- Supervise junior staff members, fostering a collaborative team environment.
- Assist in training new employees on food preparation techniques and customer service standards.
- Monitor inventory levels of supplies and assist with ordering as necessary.
- Handle cash transactions efficiently while ensuring accuracy.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve high-quality coffee and tea beverages, ensuring consistency in taste and presentation.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the coffee station and surrounding areas, adhering to food safety regulations.
- Engage with customers in a friendly manner, taking orders accurately and efficiently.
- Assist with food preparation as needed, including pastries and light snacks.
- Manage time effectively to ensure timely service during peak hours.
- Handle cash transactions and maintain accurate records of sales.
- Collaborate with team members to create a positive work environment.
Experience
- Previous barista experience is preferred but not essential; training will be provided for the right candidate.
- Knowledge of food safety practices is advantageous.
- Strong serving skills with an emphasis on customer satisfaction.
- Basic math skills for handling transactions and managing inventory.
