We are looking for a compassionate and proactive youth support Worker to join a team based in Dewsbury and work closely with young adults who require additional support to achieve their full potential. This is a part-time self employed position with the opportunity to move into a permanent role for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored support to adults/ young adults who have learning disabilities,helping them to navigate their challenges and build resilience.
- Utilize de-escalation techniques to manage challenging behaviours, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for all.
- Offer support and care, acting as a trusted mentor and advocate for the adults with learning disabilities in your care.
- Engage with them in creative and innovative ways to keep them motivated and on track with their emotional and personal development and well being.
- Collaborate with other staff members to create and implement strategies that meet the unique needs of each person.
- Take initiative in identifying areas where they need additional support and develop appropriate interventions to address these needs.
Desired Experience:
- Previous experience working with young people or adults with learning disabilities who have learning disabilities or display challenging behaviours.
- Familiarity with de-escalation techniques and support with care practices.
- Experience working in an Alternative Provision setting is highly desirable but not essential.
- A strong commitment to helping adults with learning disabilities achieve their best, regardless of the challenges they face.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, using your own initiative to support them effectively.

. Must be a car driver preferably with a use of a car however we can arrange some support with transport .

There will be an enhanced DBS check and you must have the right to work in the UK.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: £12.21-£13.61 per hour
Expected hours: 12 – 14 per week

- Dewsbury, West Yorkshire: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)
