Weekend On Call Support
Papillon Home Care are looking for a Weekend On Call Support to assist the business and current office team.
As the On Call Support, the role will cover two duties of “on-call” –
1. Taking calls and answering/resolving queries
2. Attending client care calls to cover carers and/or provide support in the event of emergencies at short notice
The on-call will cover our main areas of business in Folkestone, Dover and The Marsh (Plus surrounding villages). Applicants must live within one of these areas.
The Weekend On-Call Support will receive a weekend payment of £300, plus additional payments for any care calls and mileage covered during the weekend. Care Calls start from £13.89ph.
The on call will run –
4pm – 10pm Friday
7am – 10pm Saturday
7am – 10pm Sunday
7am - 8am Monday
Applicants must be available during these times when working their scheduled weekend on call. The weekends are based on a rota and could be 1-2 weekends per month. There may also be the opportunity for additional adhoc weekday evening on call cover.
Main responsibilities
· Effectively respond to any phone calls made by staff or service users outside of regular office hours.
· Calling and speaking with all relevant support staff
· Liaising with appropriate approved agencies
· In the event of alternative cover not being found, personally attending and covering care calls
· On call staff must remain in a fit and proper state to drive and must remain within reasonable proximity to service locations in order to be able to respond to emergencies effectively and within a timely manner.
· Must keep accurate and up to date records on internal systems of all staff contacted and attended, guidance given and incidents logged. In instances where any verbal support is given a clear record of these conversations must be made and any advice should be accurately recorded.
Essential Skills
· Min 12 months Experience within a homecare role
· UK driving licence and own car
· A passion for helping others and making a difference.
· Reliable
· Outstanding communication skills
· Excellent organisation skills
