Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our team as a cook. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in food preparation and cooking, You will be solely responsible for cooking a main meal and desert, serve the meal with assistance from the care team and then clean the kitchen. The cook will play a crucial role in ensuring that meals are prepared safely and efficiently, adhering to high standards of food quality and presentation.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and menu specifications.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation within the kitchen, adhering to food safety standards at all times.
- Ensure all kitchen equipment is used safely and maintained properly.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a kitchen environment, preferably within a care home setting.
- catering for specialist diets within the Care home. ( diabetic , soft diets, Puree)
- Strong culinary skills with a solid understanding of food preparation techniques.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and have or willing to sit a food safety certificate.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
- Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues.
- A passion for cooking and a desire to learn and grow within the culinary field.
