Smile Plastics is an inspiring, fast-moving global design and manufacturing house. We transform plastic waste materials into a core range of products made from 100% recycled, and recyclable plastics, that we sell to the worldwide architectural and interiors markets for furniture and fittings in residential and commercial spaces. Some of our clients include: Paul Smith, Christian Dior, Lush, Ted Baker, Ganni, National Trust, V&A Museum and Selfridges.
Due to an increase in demand, and our expansion plans, we are seeking a multi- talented team member to join our operations crew in the Warehouse Department.
What you will be doing:
PRIMARY FUNCTION
- Booking raw material deliveries into the factory, updating online record spreadsheet/ system.
- Ensure that all raw material deliveries are sampled, checked and are of the correct quality and placed into stock
- Ensure material storage is maintained to a high standard
- Ensure that the mini warehouse is controlled and at 100% accuracy at all times
- Carrying out test samples on raw materials
- Wet and dry mixing of all required products for the production lines.
- Ensuring the mixing area is at a high level of cleanliness at all times.
- Ensuring all equipment is at a high level of cleanliness at all times.
- Mixing of all required product for the production lines.
- Carrying out quality checks on finish mixes.
- Monthly stock checks of raw materials and mixes.
- Colour matching of products and test tiles.
- Operating the blending mixer, shredder and granulating machine (to re-cycle materials)
- Data input into MRP system.
- Ensure that mixing equipment is properly maintained.
SECONDARY FUNCTION
- Goods Out
- Material’s storage
- Inventory & Stock takes (weekly & monthly)
- Pack orders as per orders list
Who we are looking for:
- Having Forklift experience counterbalance licence is essential.
- A Quality first mindset.
- You must be target driven and orientated
- This role requires quite a bit of lifting so you will need to be able and happy to manually handle heavy products on a daily basis.
- Great attention to detail and accuracy in all work is important – we make exceptional products and we like to provide our customers with the best we can.
- You must be a good problem solver and show lots of initiative.

- You must be used to working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- You will be used to working in a safety-first environment
Computer literacy:
- Essential: MS Office, Word, Excel, outlook and experience of using MRP systems.
- You must be flexible and adaptable, willing to perform other duties as and when required – we’re small and not defined by our job titles
- Flexibility to working various shift patterns to meet the business needs.
