We are looking for a Trainee Fitter to work full-time alongside a lead fitter, assisting and learning on the job. The role involves travelling to building sites, private properties, and housing developments to fit a variety of steel fabrications.
These installations include, but are not limited to:
- Railings
- Gates
- Handrails
- Juliet Balconies
- Fire Escapes
- Security Panels
- External Staircases
As most work is conducted outdoors, the candidate must be prepared to work in all weather conditions.

Job Responsibilities
- Assist and anticipate tasks during daily operations.
- Use hand and power tools effectively.
- Dig or drill for post installations.
- Support with stick welding, ensuring high-quality finishes.
- Maintain tools and prepare fixings daily.
- Keep the work area clean and organised, adhering to safety regulations.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure project deadlines are met.
- Apply basic maths skills for measurements and calculations.
Requirements
- Physically fit and capable of performing manual tasks.
- Training will be provided on the job.
- A CSCS card is preferred; however, we may arrange this upon successful application.
Salary and Benefits
- Starting salary at National Minimum Wage, unless the candidate has proven experience.
- Salary review upon completion of the probation period.
- Overtime is often available, paid at time and a half.
