Job Advert
Are you a technical problem-solver who thrives on translating business vision into tangible, working solutions? We are looking for an IT Delivery Manager who can own the end-to-end delivery of complex technical projects. This is a hybrid role for someone who is part business analyst, part delivery lead, and part solutions architect.
You will be the driving force behind key initiatives, responsible for everything from initial feasibility and solution design through to development, testing, and successful implementation. If you are ready to take full ownership, orchestrate cross-functional teams, and deliver robust, scalable systems from day one, we want to hear from you.
What You'll Own & Deliver:
Translate Business Vision into Actionable Technical Plans
Go beyond simple requirement gathering; challenge, shape, and refine business needs to define clear project goals, scope, and technical specifications.
Develop and own the technical backlog, creating clear user stories, process flows, and architectural diagrams that development teams can execute on.
Architect and Design Viable Solutions
Lead feasibility studies, analysing technical constraints, risks, and trade-offs to propose and validate robust solution designs.
Map data flows and define integration points between new and existing systems, ensuring all solutions are scalable, secure, and align with our architectural principles.
Orchestrate End-to-End Project Delivery
Act as the primary technical point of contact for stakeholders, developers, and QA, ensuring alignment and removing blockers throughout the project lifecycle.
Coordinate with project managers to define timelines, manage dependencies, and communicate progress, risks, and milestones to senior sponsors.
Drive Quality and Successful Implementation
Define comprehensive acceptance criteria and oversee the testing strategy, from unit testing principles to User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
Manage the defect lifecycle and ensure solutions are not just technically sound but also business-ready and adopted effectively by end-users.
Who You Are:
Technically Grounded & Solution-Oriented: You don't just document requirements; you challenge and improve them based on your strong grasp of system architecture, APIs, and data integration patterns. You can read code, understand data models, and hold credible conversations with senior developers.
A Delivery-Focused Owner: You are obsessed with outcomes, not just outputs. You have a proven track record of taking a concept from a whiteboard to a live environment and are proactive in driving projects forward with minimal supervision.
A Pragmatic Communicator & Influencer: You can effortlessly translate complex technical concepts into clear business outcomes for director-level stakeholders, and you can articulate detailed requirements to a technical team.
An Agile & Adaptable Problem-Solver: You are skilled at breaking down large, ambiguous problems into manageable, deliverable components. You are comfortable working in both structured and agile environments, selecting the right approach to get the job done.
Innately Curious: You have a natural curiosity for how systems work and are constantly looking for ways to improve processes, tools, and platforms. You learn new technologies quickly and independently.
Essential Skills & Experience:
Demonstrable experience in a role that blends business analysis with technical design and project delivery.
Strong experience with API-led integration, middleware, and designing data flows between disparate systems (e.g. ERP, CRM, E-commerce platforms).
Proficiency with SQL for data analysis, validation, and troubleshooting.
Experience creating clear technical documentation, including solution designs, process maps (BPMN/UML/Mermaid), and sequence diagrams.
Proven ability to manage senior stakeholders and technical teams, ensuring alignment and driving to a common goal.
Nice to Have:
Experience in a retail or e-commerce environment, with an understanding of order management, inventory, or fulfilment systems.
Familiarity with cloud infrastructure concepts (IaaS/PaaS) and microservice architecture.
Experience with enterprise ERP/CRM platforms such as Microsoft Dynamics, Salesforce, or NetSuite.
Hands-on experience with project/task management tools like Jira or Azure DevOps.
Understanding of UX/CX principles and user journey mapping.
A background in a fast-paced operational environment, with a pragmatic mindset and the judgment to know when to prioritise speed-to-market over a perfect solution.
