- Team Leader – Children’s Residential Care ( LE3, Leicester)
- Location: LE3, Leicester
- Pay: £15.00 per hour (equivalent to £31,200/year) + £65 per sleep-in
- Annual Salary Estimate: £39,000 (based on sleep-in shifts)
- Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent
- Hours: 40 hours per week (contracted)
- Shifts: Flexible rota with 24 hour shifts (including a sleep-in) and regular rest days on a rolling rota.
- Development: Structured training pathway into management, with opportunities to complete a fully funded Level 5 qualification.

Sleep-ins:
Sleep-in duties are shared across the team to ensure consistent support for young people overnight. Each sleep-in is paid at £65, and you’ll always have access to support and guidance from senior staff if needed.

Your Role
As Team Leader, you'll lead day shifts, provide direct care, and mentor a team of Support Workers. You'll play a vital role in helping children build confidence, structure, and security in their lives.
Responsibilities include:
- Leading care shifts and mentoring staff
- Building strong, therapeutic relationships with children
- Key working responsibilities for individual young people
- Supporting social, emotional, and educational development
- Maintaining safeguarding standards and professional boundaries
- Delivering care plans and behavioural support
- Ensuring a consistent, nurturing, and high-quality environment
What You Need
- Level 3 or Level 4 Diploma / Apprenticeship in Residential Childcare (required)
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a children’s residential care setting (required)
- Strong leadership skills and ability to model excellent care practice
- A trauma-informed, relationship-centred approach
- Knowledge of Children’s Homes Regulations and Quality Standards
- Full UK Driving Licence (preferred)
- Right to work in the UK (required)
