We are looking for an experienced and motivated team leader with strong forklift truck driving skills to join the Clawson family situated in the picturesque village of Long Clawson, just 6 miles from Melton Mowbray.

What you’ll do

This leadership role is key to ensuring the smooth operation of our cold storage facility, overseeing daily activities, managing team members, and ensuring products are safely and efficiently moved, stored, and dispatched while maintaining all traceability records using electronic systems. The role involves working in a chilled environment, so experience in similar conditions is preferred.

· Champion a safe and respectful workplace by attending daily H&S meetings, enforcing PPE use, following H&S and hygiene procedures, and completing accurate accident investigations.

· Use systems like NAV to manage stock, scan goods in and out accurately, and maintain clear records; complete relevant IT training as required.

· Operate forklift trucks safely, conducting both personal start-up and random checks, and ensure all driving complies with safety regulations.

· Proactively address audit non-compliances, support efficiency, and take on additional tasks to enhance operational performance.

Integrity

· Demonstrate accountability by taking personal responsibility for your actions and respectfully challenging unsafe or inappropriate behaviours.

· Ensure full compliance with company rules, policies, and procedures while handling information and tasks with transparency and care.

· Maintain professionalism and ethical conduct when managing issues, engaging with staff, and representing the business.

What are we looking for?

· A strong leader with a zero-tolerance approach to Health & Safety and a clear focus on quality and compliance.

· Valid Counterbalance Forklift Truck License holder, with the ability to safely carry out manual handling tasks.

· Experience working under pressure with accuracy, strong numeracy, and a good command of English.

· Self-motivated, adaptable, and able to work on own initiative while supporting team motivation.

· Competent in using basic IT systems including Excel, Word, and internal reporting tools.

· Able to prioritise effectively, meet deadlines, and respond to production demands and seasonal peaks.

· Ideally has knowledge of food/process manufacturing, COSHH, risk assessments, and quality systems.

· Demonstrates core values of integrity, sound judgment, and professional maturity in all tasks.

Shift pattern: Monday-Friday 06:15-15:00

Due to the nature of the business and the responsibility of your job role your flexibility to work additional hours, weekends and shifts during seasonal periods may be requested, for the proper performance of your duties. We appreciate your support in helping us meet these demands!

We offer enhanced pay for weekend and overtime hours.
