Teaching Assistant with PE Specialism Apprenticeship Level 3

Salary: Confirmed upon appointment but will be at least the minimum wage for apprentices.
Working Week: 35 Hours Per Week, 9.10am-4.40pm. Mon-Fri (30 mins lunch break), (includes 1 day study)
This role is for a sports and PE teaching assistant to work within our school. The role largely consists of supporting pupils with their physical development through PE curriculum lessons. The successful candidate will work closely with our school sports coach supervising and supporting the teaching of PE. The successful candidate will run extra- curricular sports club at lunchtimes and after school along with the coach.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Work alongside sports coach, teaching assistants and teachers to deliver engaging and motivating PE lessons, supervising and supporting the activities of individuals or groups of children to ensure their safety and facilitate their physical and emotional development.
Organise and run extra-curricular sports clubs
Manage and train school team(s)
Attend team events ‘out of hours’ (time given in lieu)
Responsible for monitoring equipment stock and for tidying store cupboards
Prepare, wash and dry kit
Monitor individual pupil progress, achievements, problems, condition and development needs reporting to the responsible teacher as appropriate. Working with more able pupils to help them attain the highest level they can and adapting sports sessions to help pupils who need assistance.
Assist the teacher with the planning of learning activities in the classroom and assist in equipment preparation for lessons in designated areas - preparing or modifying work for individuals or groups of pupils as directed.
Support the PE Leader in organising the participation of students in school activities, school clubs and school tournaments/competitions (both internal and external)

You must have a clear DBS (the school will arrange this)

Teaching Assistant Level 3 Standard, 18 months practical with an additional 3 months End Point Assessment period
