Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Swim Instructor to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for swimming and teaching, with the ability to educate individuals of all ages and skill levels. As a Swim Instructor, you will play a crucial role in promoting water safety and developing swimming skills in a supportive environment.
Duties
- Conduct swimming lessons for individuals and groups (maximum 5 swimmers with a helper for younger stages), ensuring that each session is tailored to the participants' abilities and goals.
- Educate students on water safety practices and swimming techniques, fostering a positive learning atmosphere.
- Assess students' progress and provide constructive feedback to help them improve their skills.
- Develop lesson plans that are engaging, effective, and aligned with best practices in swim instruction.
- Maintain a safe and clean environment in and around the pool area, adhering to all health and safety regulations.
- Communicate effectively with students and their guardians regarding progress, concerns, or any necessary adjustments to lesson plans.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities to enhance teaching techniques and stay current with industry standards.
Qualifications
- Experience in sports coaching or swim instruction is preferred but not essential; a willingness to learn is key.
- Qualified Swimming Instructor STA or Swim England
- Safety Award in Teachers is preferred but essential as we will ensure training is completed prior to start date
- Strong communication skills with the ability to educate effectively across various age groups.
- A passion for swimming and promoting water safety.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as required.
- Relevant certifications in lifeguarding would be advantageous but can be obtained post-hire.
- Must be able to demonstrate swimming proficiency at an advanced level.
