Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Supported Housing Officer to join our community hub team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the organisation's core operations and ensuring the efficient and effective delivery of services.
Key Responsibilities:
- To provide short-term housing support to an agreed caseload of tenants with support needs.
- Undertake housing needs assessments of all new referrals and develop an individual programme of support
- Establish a good network of contacts and good working relationships with colleagues and key strategic authorities or agencies
- Establish and regularly update an information resource on local support services available to tenants
- Produce monthly performance reports and contribute to supporting people monitoring requirements as directed by the Housing Manager.
- Ensure that CORE information is collected and the forms are submitted according to the required timetable.
- Keep up to date records of performance against nomination or referral agreements and provide monitoring statistics to local authorities as required.
- Conduct follow up visit’s to tenants to ensure that they are fully aware of their responsibilities under the tenancy agreement and that they have all the information they require.
Requirements:
- ESSENTIAL – British Sign Language (BSL) as clients are deaf and communication is essential
- A full (clean) driving licence and access to a car.
- Understanding of the relevant legislation (including housing acts 1985, 1988 & 1996) and of the tenancy enforcement procedures.
- Understanding of the best practice In relation to the management of lettings and voids
- Understanding of the regulatory requirements that relate to lettings, tenancy management and supporting people/support contracts.
- Good Numeracy & Literacy
- Willing to obtain CIH Level 2 qualification in Housing
