We currently have some really exciting opportunities to build and establish support teams in the west of Cornwall.
We are looking for female support staff for two new packages in Constantine (just outside of Falmouth) and Ashton (on the outskirts of Helston).
Due to the rural location of the services, public transport is likely to be infrequent, therefore a driving licence is highly desirable.
One young Autistic lady with mental health difficulties is returning home after a period away, to a brand new, bespoke annexe within the grounds of her family home. She enjoys music, anime, arts & crafts and watching TV and films. She also likes to keep up with, and discuss current affairs, and has a strong sense of social justice. She will require 1:1 support, 24 hours a day, so day shifts and waking nights are available. She has a service support dog.
The second service will be providing 24:7 support to an autistic lady moving into her own property in Constantine. The shifts are likely to be 14 hours days, with a sleep in. Drivers are essential for this package, as the lady has her own vehicle which you would be required to drive. Personal care will also be provided in this package of support. You will be supporting this lady with all aspects of daily living, as well as building up her confidence and support network within the local community. She enjoys being active, and likes to spend time surfing, body boarding, cycling, horse riding, walking and trampolining.
These roles will involve getting to know the person you are supporting, and communicating effectively within the team and company to ensure we are able to provide the most tailored support to the individual. You will need to work as part of a team, but also be able to lone work in people's own homes. Using digital systems to record your work and stay in touch with your colleagues, you will need to support people with some known challenges and to respond to exciting new opportunities as we take some positive risks. We think that working to support people to lead a wonderful lives is a rewarding job; but we recognise it can be hard work and so:
