An exclusive opportunity has arisen for an experienced Sommelier to join the team at a prestigious 5-star superior hotel nestled in one of Switzerland’s most beautiful mountain towns. This is an ideal role for someone with a love of fine wine, luxury service, and an active outdoor lifestyle.
The Role:
As Sommelier, you will be responsible for curating and managing the wine programme across the hotel’s fine dining venues. You will work closely with the culinary and front-of-house teams to elevate the guest experience through thoughtful pairings and exceptional wine knowledge.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the wine service for multiple restaurants, bars, and events
- Manage the wine cellar, ordering, inventory, and supplier relationships
- Advise guests on wine selections, tailoring suggestions to enhance their meals
- Train and support service staff to maintain high wine service standards
- Develop wine pairings and menus in collaboration with the Executive Chef
Requirements:
- 3–4 years of sommelier experience in luxury or fine-dining environments
- Fluent in both German and English
- WSET or equivalent qualification strongly preferred
- Passionate about wine, guest service, and team collaboration
- Willingness to relocate to the Swiss Alps
- Suited to someone who enjoys nature, skiing, hiking, or biking – the lifestyle here is peaceful, scenic, and ideal for the outdoorsy type
