Role Overview: AES is expanding its operations and seeking skilled Electricians to join our dynamic team. In this role, you'll collaborate with a team of engineers to perform daily installations and lead. Solar experience essential.
Please note this role is an 8 week position with the possibility to continue future projects with AES.
Start Date: Start-Mid July
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems and components related to solar photovoltaic (PV) installations, ensuring compliance with BS7671 standards and other relevant regulations.
- Connect solar panels to the electrical system, including inverters and other high-voltage equipment, ensuring proper integration and functionality.
- Conduct thorough testing and commissioning of solar PV systems to verify performance and safety, utilizing appropriate testing devices and procedures.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical issues within solar PV systems, implementing effective solutions to maintain optimal system performance.
- Interpret and work from technical drawings, schematics, and blueprints to determine the layout and configuration of electrical systems for solar installations.
- Ensure all work is performed in accordance with health and safety guidelines, including proper use of personal protective equipment and adherence to safe working practices.
- Collaborate effectively with team members, including engineers and other electricians, to complete installations efficiently and to a high standard.
- Maintain accurate records of installations, maintenance, and repairs performed, including documentation of any issues encountered and solutions implemented.
- Stay updated with the latest industry developments, standards, and best practices related to solar PV installations and electrical systems.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to apprentices or less experienced team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
Essential Qualifications:
- Level 3 Electrical Qualification (e.g., City & Guilds Level 3 Diploma in Electrical Installations)
- ECS Card
- Minimum of 1 year experience in solar PV installation
Desirable Certifications:
- Asbestos Awareness
- Manual Handling
- Working at Heights
- Health and Safety Awareness
- IPAF/PASMA
- SSSTS/SMSTS
Additional Requirements:
- Strong work ethic and commitment to quality
- Ability to work in various weather conditions
- Full set of tools
- Full driving licence.
