We are seeking a practical, creative Sensory & Environment Lead to support a new, inclusive provision for children with additional needs. This hands-on role blends classroom support with sensory-focused space planning to help pupils stay regulated, calm, and ready to learn.
Key Responsibilities
- Adapt classroom and shared spaces to support regulation
- Create calming zones, sensory tools, and visual supports
- Complete sensory-related risk assessments and advise on adjustments
- Support children 1:1 or in small groups with routines and regulation
- Assist with EHCP strategies and behaviour support
- Collaborate with the wider team, including teachers, TAs, key workers, and the Care Manager
- Share guidance on sensory needs and co-regulation
- Contribute to a safe, supportive environment with strong awareness of pupil wellbeing
- Provide personal care support when needed, with dignity and professionalism
Skills required
- Experience in supporting children with SEN or sensory needs
- Strong understanding of sensory processing and inclusive environments
- Calm, flexible and team-focused
- Creative and practical approach to support
- Training in autism, sensory needs, or regulation strategies (desirable)
Working Hours & Pay
- Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 3:00pm, term-time only
- £14.50 per hour

- This role is part of a new provision expected to begin in September 2025, subject to compliance readiness
