We are seeking a Senior Residential Support Worker/Team Leader to join our team in a warm, supportive, and Ofsted-registered 5-bed children’s home for young people aged 8–18 with complex social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with the right experience and values to make a real difference in the lives of children and young people.
In this role, it’s not just about qualifications – it’s about the connection you build. We are looking for someone who can form genuine, positive relationships and bring a calm, resilient, and caring presence to the home.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality care and support tailored to individual needs.
- Lead shifts and guide support staff to deliver consistent, therapeutic care.
- Promote positive behaviour management strategies in line with the home’s approach.
- Contribute to care planning, risk assessments, and key working sessions.
- Ensure the home operates in line with Ofsted standards and safeguarding requirements.
- Be a role model for staff and young people.
Requirements
Essential:
- Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
- Previous experience in a residential children’s setting, ideally in a senior or shift leader role.
- Understanding of SEMH needs and trauma-informed approaches.
- Resilience, empathy, and the ability to stay calm under pressure.
- Flexibility to work shifts, including sleep-ins.
Desirable:
- Experience in a leadership or mentoring capacity.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
