Job Title: Senior Support Worker

Salary: £32,000 - £35,000 per annum

That’s why we are looking for a passionate, motivated Senior Support Worker to join our dedicated team in Loughborough, helping us to maintain a warm and caring atmosphere for our children.
Role Overview:
As a Senior Support Worker, you will act as a role model and 'parent' to the children and young people in our care, helping them to develop life skills and improving their overall health and well-being. You will be responsible for leading shifts, supervising staff, and ensuring the effective running of the home.
We are looking for someone who is compassionate, proactive, and dedicated to making a difference in the lives of children and young people.
Key Responsibilities:
- Take responsibility for the effective and efficient running of shifts, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations of the home.
- Assist management in developing the skills and potential of residential support workers.
- Supervise, mentor, and develop the skills of staff in their daily practice.
- Deputise in the absence of management as required.
- Maintain accurate and compliant records in line with childcare practices, company policies, and children’s regulations.
- Promote the welfare, safety, and well-being of young people, ensuring their needs are met in a caring and supportive environment.
- Contribute to the development and review of individual placement plans.
- Support effective partnerships with parents, families, and external agencies.
- Ensure a safe and healthy environment by following Health and Safety, Fire Safety, and Food Hygiene procedures.
- Participate in the rota system and be available for sleep-in duties when required.
- Take on ad hoc tasks and contribute to the development of the service as required.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and housekeeping.
- Provide ongoing support to colleagues and be a positive team member.
What We’re Looking For:
- A caring, empathetic, and professional attitude with a passion for working with children and young people.
- NVQ Level 3 in Children and Young People (or equivalent) is essential.
- Experience in residential care and managing shifts.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
- Ability to work flexibly, including participating in a shift rota and sleep-in duties.
- A satisfactory Enhanced DBS Check is required.
- Ability to undertake physical intervention if required, following the appropriate training.
