Job Title: Senior Residential Support Worker – Children’s Home
Location: Leicester LE3, Leicestershire
Salary: £32,000 – £34,000 per annum (dependent on experience & qualifications)
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Shifts: Days, evenings, weekends, and occasional sleep-ins (rotational shifts)

Our Ofsted-registered children’s home in Leicester provides a safe, structured, and therapeutic environment for young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties.
We are now looking for a Senior Residential Support Worker who is experienced, motivated, and ready to take the next step in their career. You’ll be a key member of our team—supporting the young people in our care and mentoring junior staff to maintain a high standard of care and consistency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide emotional and practical support to children and young people in line with individual care plans
- Lead shifts and support with rota planning and daily delegation
- Serve as a positive role model and mentor for other support workers
- Support children with education, activities, and life skills development
- De-escalate challenging behaviours using trauma-informed and therapeutic approaches
- Complete reports, risk assessments, and incident records to a high standard
- Ensure safeguarding and compliance with all relevant legislation and care standards
- Work in partnership with external agencies, schools, and families
What We’re Looking For:
- Minimum of 2 years' experience working in residential childcare
- NVQ Level 3 in Residential Childcare (or equivalent – essential)
- A calm, confident, and consistent approach to care
- Ability to lead, support, and develop others
- Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills
- A full UK driving licence (essential)
- Flexibility to work on a rota including weekends, evenings, and sleep-ins
