Are you passionate about making a positive impact in people's lives? We're seeking dynamic Senior Support Workers in our Brecon area, who will deliver high-quality person-centred services delivering great outcomes for the people we support. You'll be an exemplary practice role model and shift leader to ensure high-quality, person-centred care and support is delivered by all colleagues. You'll be the care and support plan guardian, an advocate for the people we support and an inspiration to the team.

You will need to hold a full UK driving license for this role.

About Mirus

For 40 years, we have provided support so people can do the things they love, achieve their goals, and live good lives - always with voice, choice, and control.

We support people with learning disabilities, mental ill-health, and autistic people. Our services are shaped by the people who use them – we listen to and value each person's unique voice and experiences, creating an environment where everyone feels heard and understood.

We know that people have better lives when they feel part of their community – and the community benefits too! That's why we work with others to build networks that encourage people to explore opportunities, discover new interests, develop relationships, and enhance their independence.

Everything we do is guided by our values: Together, Respectful, Responsible, Empowering, and Courageous.

About the Services:

You'll be supporting a diverse group of individuals, including three young people working toward greater independence and life skills, three older women with varying support needs, and three young men who are actively engaged in both home and community life. Your role will involve promoting independent living by encouraging and guiding individuals in everyday tasks such as cooking, budgeting, and home tasks. You'll foster meaningful participation in local activities and social opportunities, helping each person build confidence and connection. With a strong emphasis on dignity and respect, you'll deliver personalised care tailored to everyone's needs, while ensuring all support is provided in accordance with manual handling and Positive Behaviour Management (PBM) training.

What you'll be doing:

  • You'll deliver high-quality, person-centred care and support.
  • You'll support, coach and guide our support workers to become the best they can be!
  • You'll assist with continuous improvement, compliance, and quality improvement for your assigned services.
  • You'll help identify and solution the learning needs for your services, including supporting the induction of new people into your team.
  • You'll help in the delivery of a safe practice ensuring health and safety responsibilities and delivered and adhered to.
  • You'll help with the preparation and management of rotas, house finances and household supplies.

Why Join Us?

We value our staff and offer:

  • A fully funded and supported QCF Level 2 Health and Social Care qualification (if not already achieved).
  • Paid work-related travel at 45p per mile between services.
  • Extra pay for sleep-in and wake-in shifts – one of the highest rates in Wales.
  • A full training programme with opportunities for development and career progression.
  • 24 days' annual leave, plus bank holidays (increasing after 5 years' service).
  • A Cycle to Work Scheme.
  • A Wellbeing Hub to support your health and wellbeing.
  • Registration with Social Care Wales and DBS check paid for by Mirus.
  • A £300 employee referral scheme when you recommend someone to join us.
