About the role

As one of our fantastic team of Senior Project Officers your manager will be our Assets Project Manager. You will work 37 hours a week on a permanent basis, working flexibly in the Vico Homes operating area from our Head Office in Castleford.

As a Senior Project Officer you will be responsible for acting as the client in the development and delivery of our capital investment program. Managing the pre-start phase of projects, through to monitoring works on site, accepting completed properties and schemes back and ultimately sign off of the defects period you will see major investment projects from beginning to end.

It is an exciting time to be joining us and here are some of the initiatives that you will be involved in:

  • Involvement in delivery of our sustainability works to achieve EPC C and beyond
  • Delivery of programs of re-investment work across components such as kitchens, bathrooms and roofs and also wider environmental improvement schemes
  • Support the delivery of improvements and investments across other areas of Vico Homes assets including our Independent Living Schemes and High-Rise properties

What you’ll do
  • Manage and facilitate pre-start phase of projects to ensure scheme and financial viability is maintained, including managing risk, information flow, ensuring a seamless transition between pre-start to operational start on site of each project
  • Maintain a high level of construction knowledge and changes to Health & Safety legislation etc., to ensure the effective and safe delivery of a variety of construction projects
  • Act as the client and customer representative and advocate to deliver the organisation's Capital Investment Programme in line with the organisation's Asset Management Strategic Plan
  • Be responsible for ensuring that the team delivers a consistently high level of service, maintains a high-quality product delivered cost effectively complying with all aspects of Health and Safety, and within Vico Homes’s established policies and procedures

What we’re looking for
  • Somebody with a qualification at Level 4 of the Regulated Qualifications Framework, such as a HNC, Award, Certificate or Diploma at level 4 or equivalent, in a relevant subject area
  • You will have a great proven track record in a similar and relevant position in a property services department of a housing or construction organisation
  • You will need to be skilled in understanding building and construction techniques along with all the associated legislation and Health and Safety requirements when developing schemes of work
