This is a part-time (0.6 FTE), fixed-term position until 31st July 2026. This position is offered on a T&S contract.

This is an exciting opportunity for a Further Education specialist to join our team as a Senior Lecturer in Further Education Initial Teacher Education (ITE) at Lincoln Bishop University. With increasing numbers of trainees and growing demand across vocational and SEND pathways, we are expanding our team to ensure sustainable delivery and high-quality student experience. This new 0.6 FTE post will support the development of distinct vocational and academic cohorts, and contribute to our response to Ofsted feedback on specialist provision.

We are seeking an inspirational educator with substantial experience of teaching in the Further Education and Skills sector. The successful candidate will work alongside the Programme Leader to support delivery across full-time and part-time cohorts, including block teaching on weekends and placement support. You will play a key role in collaborative curriculum development, quality assurance, and strengthening our market position through specialist expertise.

You will be passionate about developing the next generation of FE teachers and committed to delivering an outstanding and supportive student experience. Experience of mentoring trainee teachers or supporting early career professionals in an educational setting is essential. Additional experience in vocational education and/or SEND is also highly desirable, particularly in the context of developing specialist routes and responding to sector-wide demand.

In this role, you will contribute to the teaching and development of our Teaching Post-16 and Further Education pathway programmes, including the Professional Graduate Diploma in Education and Certificate routes, working collaboratively with a dedicated team of ITE professionals and our extensive network of FE providers. You will support trainees through our ADEPT curriculum, providing high-quality feedback and guidance during their placements, and helping them to become confident, reflective practitioners.

BGU offers a generous employee benefits package including:

Please note, this role involves weekend teaching and requires a willingness to travel outside of the local area to support trainees and partnership activity.
