Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Senior Joinery Machinist to take a support role in our workshop. This individual will be responsible for operating and overseeing key machining processes to produce bespoke components to exacting standards. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of solid timber and panel machining, a sharp eye for detail, and strong communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
· Operate and maintain a wide range of woodworking machinery, including spindle moulders, edge banding machine, bandsaws, table saws, chop saws, planers, CNC routers, and hand tools.
· Interpret complex technical drawings and cutting lists to produce accurate joinery components.
· Work closely with joiners, designers, and project managers to ensure smooth workflow and timely output.
· Ensuring best practices are followed throughout the team.
· Lead by example in maintaining exceptional health and safety standards.
· Conduct regular quality checks to ensure all components meet project specifications.
· Support workshop management in developing efficient production methods and machine maintenance schedules.
· Contribute to continuous improvement of machining processes and workshop organisation.
Skills & Experience Required
**Essential: **
· Minimum 5 years’ experience in a joinery or bespoke manufacturing environment.
· Advanced proficiency with woodworking machinery and tooling setup.
· Deep knowledge of timber types and their machining properties.
· Ability to read and interpret complex joinery drawings.
· High level of craftsmanship and attention to detail.
· Strong problem-solving skills and initiative in a workshop setting.
