Overview
Reaseheath College is a forward thinking and dynamic College providing an excellent educational experience to over 4,500 students a year. Our Construction department offers a range of courses covering Plastering, Bricklaying and Joinery, with practical teaching to ensure students are industry focused and career ready.
About the role
We currently have a vacancy within our Construction department for an Instructor in Carpentry and Joinery. The role would suit a Site Joiner who holds a Level 3 qualification and is interested in working within a supportive, passionate and well-resourced teaching environment.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead and support learners during lessons in a range of subjects when delivering practical and classroom activities.
- Ensure students have the basic skills they need to either enter the workplace or to move onto higher level courses.
- Motivate and enthuse everyone you work with to achieve their full potential.
- Takes responsibility for one or more areas of machinery operations, servicing and maintenance.
- Ensure high standards are met in respect of health and safety.
The successful candidate will have:
- Minimum Level 3 Site Joinery qualification (or be willing to work towards one).
- Level 2 Maths & English or equivalent.
- Recognised Teaching Qualification (or be willing to work towards one).
- A period of relevant and successful time within the construction industry.
- Technically sound with the desire to develop inspirational and innovative teaching and learning ability.
