We have a new opportunity for a Senior Risk Officer to join our IT Risk team. Reporting into the Head of IT Risk, you’ll provide IT Risk, Control and Audit leadership across the technology function. You’ll influence CIO leadership to ensure risk-based decisions are undertaken across all aspects of technology, embedding risk culture. You’ll also ensure risks around emerging technologies such as AI, Chatbots and Machine Learning are considered.

You'll work at least 40% of your week away from home, moving to the majority of your working week from September 2025. Away from home means either attendance at one of our office locations, visiting clients or attending industry events.
What you’ll be doing:
- Partnering with colleagues within the COO risk team to establish standard practices for managing operation risk in first-line.
- Managing high-level stakeholder relationships including providing updates to the Senior Leadership Team.
- Contributing to the growth of risk maturity within technology and the wider risk management leadership agenda.
- Support technology SME’s with the review of existing controls and defining controls in line with best practice and regulatory requirements.
- Leading discussions to build the information risk profile, reporting on incidents and key risk indicators.
- Ensuring adherence to the control framework through detective controls and preventative measures.
- Producing standard procedure and policy documentation for risks and controls in line with group policy requirements.
- Embedding risk management into the first line technology functions.
- Working closely with IT teams to integrate technology risk management and governance practices into the day-to-day operations.

What you’ll bring:
- Exposure to risk management within technology at an enterprise scale including IT Security, Cyber Security, Security Operations, Governance.
- Previous experience with technology controls, programs and risk domains such as Change management, SDLC, information security practices, COBIT and ITIL frameworks.
- Ability to build and sustain relationships with individuals at all levels of the organisation.
- High proficiency with MS Office productivity tools such as Word and PowerPoint, with advanced skill in data manipulation using Excel.
- Experience auditing within a technical environment.
- Ability to translate requirements effectively and coordinate team discussions.
- Working knowledge of operational risk and associated regulations e.g. Basel, SOX is desirable.
