Overview
We are currently seeking an experienced and compassionate Senior Carer to join our dedicated team in a residential setting for older people aged 65 and over, many of whom are living with dementia. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone with strong leadership qualities and a genuine passion for delivering high-quality care.
Duties
- Provide personal care and support to residents, ensuring their dignity and comfort at all times.
- Experience of working in Residential setting for older people over the age of 65 years living with Dementia with fair understanding/knowledge of CQC inspections and standards
- Managing staff - Supervision/Training/Handovers
- Managing medications - Ordering/administering and returns
- In charge of the care home as duty officer
- Ability to prioritise workload and full of initiative
- Health & Safety at Work and Infection Prevention Control
- Staff Rota
- Allocation of duties
- Shifts - including weekend and Bank Holidays
- Ability to use computer - send/receive emails, work on words & excel
- Good communication & organisational skills
- Ability to write reports and send out letters
Qualifications
- Minimum QCF (NVQ) Level 3 in Health & Social Care
- Proven experience in a similar senior role within a residential care setting
- Knowledge and understanding of CQC standards and inspections
- Excellent communication, organisational and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently, use initiative, and prioritise workload effectively
- Willingness to work flexible shifts, including weekends and bank holidays
- Competent computer skills for everyday administrative duties
