Responsible to: The Registered Home Manager
The role of the senior is vital for the safe delivery of care to all our clients, the senior role is outlined below.
To ensure the well-being and safety of all the clients within the home, whilst on shift
To ensure that care is delivered as per the client’s individual plan of care.
To supervise care staff and other members of the team whilst on shift and to ensure that the service to the clients is delivered to the highest possible standard
To ensure that the home’s policies & Procedures are adhered to at all times. The senior is responsible to ensure that all staff follow the home’s policies & Procedures.
To contact and liaise with clients GP’s when required and to ensure that any directions given by the GP are followed and documented within the clients care plan.
To ensure that all clients within the home receive their own prescribed medication and that any issues arising from administering medications are documented and where required action taken.
To ensure that the home remains as risk free for clients and visitors as is possible and that action is taken where risks to health & safety arise.
All senior staff must attend all compulsory training and where required pass their knowledge learnt onto the care staff.
To ensure that the home is adequately covered at all times and where staff shortages have developed that additional staff is arranged to meet the needs of the clients.
To update and implement changes within a clients care plan as and when their care needs change and to ensure that all clients care plans are evaluated at least monthly.
To ensure that all information is passed on at the end of shift to the deputy manager or when required the home manager.
To assist in inducting new employees into the home and ensuring that they have the necessary skills and knowledge to meet the job required of them.

Pay: From £14.00 per hour
