We are recruiting a Session Leader to join our specialist Forest School, Mud Pie Explorers CIC. A Level 3 Forest School Leader qualification is desirable, but other relevant qualifications in working with children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) are also welcome.

The key location for this role is NEWPORT, with some hours also in DOWNEND, SOUTH GLOS. Access to a car is essential for this role.

Our team members receive either annual leave or rolled up holiday pay, and paid sick leave inline with our policies. Being a team member also has the following benefits:

This is a brilliant opportunity to become a key member of our incredible team and run a varied selection of outdoor sessions that promote the wellbeing of children.

Our session leaders run a mixture of all-age family sessions, preschool groups, afterschool clubs, and primary aged groups specifically for children with SEND. Our leaders run sessions in a child-led way, which includes planning activities, setting up kit, assisting with conflict resolution, and debriefing with the team afterwards.

Hours are made up of session time (which is outdoors all year round) and admin/planning time.

We have a strong commitment to the organisation to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children in our care. All team members must undergo vetting procedures, complete a DBS check and have 2 adequate references.

Mud Pie Explorers CIC is dedicated to equal opportunities and welcomes applicants from all. We encourage applications from the BAME community who are currently under represented in our team.

This role has been part-funded by the UK Government SPF Fund.

Closing date for the application: Weds 27th August, 5pm
