Cover Supervisor (casual)

Salary: £14.13 to £14.59 per hour

Start Date: As soon as possible.

At Outwood Grange Academy, our core belief is that students come first, and that every child, irrespective of their background, has the right to an outstanding education. As a Cover Supervisor, you will support our ethos of raising standards and transforming lives by supporting the delivery of quality education under the guidance of teaching staff. This is a very rewarding role that would be perfect for someone aspiring to make a difference to children's lives.

As a Cover Supervisor, you will work across the age range 11 to 16 covering lessons for absent colleagues by delivering the pre-prepared lesson resources. This role may include supervising whole classes or working with an individual or small groups in or out of the classroom. Thus, you will be given the opportunity to work across a wide range of subjects.

You DO NOT need to be a qualified teacher although, you will obtain valuable experience and insight which can be successfully used as a stepping stone into teacher training! You DO need to be able to positively interact with young people, and have the ability to motivate and challenge students in order to maintain a positive learning environment. Therefore, this rewarding role will be a fantastic opportunity for anyone wishing to pursue a career in education.

Outwood Grange Academy is based in the cathedral city of Wakefield and we are proud to be rated Good by Ofsted. We are a welcoming and supportive academy with a relentless determination to provide the very best education for every student. We place students at the centre of everything we do, focusing on creating a culture of success and a positive climate for learning. We believe that all support staff within our Family of Schools are key posts in terms of securing student success and achievement across a broad range of subjects and experiences. As such we are keen to recruit dedicated and ambitious individuals who will add value to our Academy in both academic terms and through involvement in the fabric of learning.

Full training and support can be provided.

If this sounds like the role for you, we would love to hear from you!

When completing your application, please give due regard to the attached Job Description and Person Specification. Please note that all of the essential criteria listed on the Person Specification will be used to shortlist candidates for interview. If you do not demonstrate and/or evidence that you meet all of the essential criteria elements, you will not be selected for interview.
