SALES AND EVENTS COORDINATOR
PING is a family-owned golf manufacturer, founded in 1959 by Karsten and Louise Solheim. PING Europe, based in Gainsborough, Lincolnshire, assembles and distributes golf equipment to the UK, Ireland, Europe, Iceland, South Africa and the Middle East. The European headquarters employs over 250 people in a range of different functions, including manufacturing, operations, marketing, sales and finance. The company also has an apparel design office, based in Cheadle, Cheshire, and is the proprietor of Thonock Park Golf Club, also in Gainsborough.
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Thonock Park as a Sales and Events Coordinator, working 32 hours over four days. This front-line role combines administrative and event coordination responsibilities with basic accounting duties and sales support. You will play a vital part in delivering high-quality service to our members, guests and event clients - from golf days and meetings to celebrations and overnight stays - all while helping to promote our offering through social media and other marketing initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
Event and Sales Coordination:
- Assist with the promotion and sales of events, including corporate days, private functions, golf society packages and seasonal promotions. Follow up on enquiries, providing information, quotes and assistance through the booking process.
- Liaise closely with the Operational team to ensure events are accurately planned and executed.
- Conduct client show-rounds and represent Thonock Park at exhibitions and promotional events.
- Maintain and update the venue’s client database and booking systems.
- Promote Thonock Park’s membership offerings to prospective members.
Office Administration and Reception:
- Deliver a professional and friendly front-of-house experience for all visitors and callers.
- Provide day-to-day administrative support, including to the Management team when required.
- Maintain accurate records, contracts and internal documentation relating to bookings and events, ensuring that booking systems and calendars align with operational requirements.
- Process new member applications, renewals and changes.
Basic Accounting and Financial Support:
- Prepare and issue customer invoices for events, room bookings and services.
- Process deposits, final payments and refunds and assist with account reconciliation.
- Perform daily banking duties and liaise with the Finance team to ensure timely and accurate financial records.
- Maintain petty cash records and track internal costings for events and hospitality. Marketing and Social Media Support:
- Assist with marketing for social media channels to promote events, golf days, offers and seasonal activities.
- Help ensure events and venue spaces are visually presented and captured for online promotion.
- Monitor enquiries and engagement from social channels and follow-up in a timely manner.
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Previous experience in an administrative or customer-facing role, ideally in hospitality, events, or a golf club setting.
- Strong and confident communication and presentation skills with all audience levels, with a happy disposition and demeanour.
- Good understanding of basic finance, including invoicing and handling payments.
- IT literate, with a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and Outlook).
- Familiarity with social media platforms, such as Facebook and Instagram.
